Club Med, the global leader in premium all-inclusive holidays, has officially started the construction of its first resort in South Africa, located in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. The resort, which is expected to open in 2025, will offer a unique experience of nature, culture, and adventure to its guests.
A Landmark Project for Club Med and South Africa
The Club Med KZN resort is a landmark project for both Club Med and South Africa, as it marks the entry of the French company into the African market, and the revival of the tourism sector in the country. The resort is a result of a partnership between Club Med, the KZN provincial government, the Tinley Consortium, and the Dream Hotels and Resorts Group.
The resort will be located on a 30-hectare site within the Tinley Manor Beach node, a coastal town north of Durban. The site was chosen for its natural beauty, rich biodiversity, and proximity to the King Shaka International Airport. The resort will feature 350 rooms, a conference center, a spa, a kids club, and various sports and entertainment facilities. The resort will also offer access to the beach, the lagoon, and the adjacent nature reserve.
The resort will create more than 1,200 direct and indirect jobs, and generate significant economic and social benefits for the local community. The resort will also adhere to the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility, following Club Med’s Green Globe certification and sustainability policy.
