Dominque Perry, who played Tasha on the hit HBO series ‘Insecure’, has accused her former co-star and baby daddy Sarunas Jackson of ‘mental and physical abuse’ in a child custody dispute. Perry, who shares a 3-year-old daughter named Zen with Jackson, filed a restraining order against him and requested full custody of their child.
Perry Alleges Jackson Hit Her, Threatened Her, and Harassed Her
In the court documents obtained by Radar Online, Perry alleged that Jackson, who played Dro on ‘Insecure’, hit her in front of their daughter, threatened to kill himself with a gun if she left him, destroyed her personal property, threw her belongings into the street, threw her car keys to prevent her from driving away, spewed profanities about her to their daughter, and harassed her with calls and texts. She also claimed that he trespassed into her home without her consent, lunged for her neck, struck her, threw her over the couch and stole her phone when she told him she was going to call the police. She said she has security footage of the incident that occurred on Nov. 5, 2023.
Perry said she ended her relationship with Jackson in October 2023, after more than two years of dating, due to his abusive behavior. She said she met him on the set of ‘Insecure’ in June 2021 and they had a secret affair while he was still dating actress Brittany Hall. She said she got pregnant with his child and he denied being the father until a DNA test proved otherwise. She said he never publicly acknowledged their daughter and only saw her sporadically.
Perry Wants Full Custody of Their Daughter and No Contact with Jackson
Perry said she fears for her safety and the safety of their daughter, who she said is the most important thing in the world to her. She said she wants full legal and physical custody of Zen, with no visitation rights for Jackson. She also wants Jackson to stay at least 100 yards away from her, their daughter, her home, her car, her workplace and her daughter’s school. She wants him to complete a 52-week batterer intervention program and pay for her legal fees.
Perry said she has tried to co-parent with Jackson, but he has been uncooperative, disrespectful and violent. She said he has refused to pay child support, provide health insurance, or share medical and educational information about their daughter. She said he has also failed to follow the COVID-19 safety protocols and exposed their daughter to unnecessary risks.
Jackson Denies the Allegations and Fights for Joint Custody
Jackson, who is the brother of Keke Palmer’s ex-boyfriend Darius Jackson, has denied the allegations and filed his own response to the court. He said he loves his daughter and wants joint legal and physical custody of her. He said he has been involved in her life since she was born and has provided financial and emotional support. He said he has never abused Perry or their daughter and has never threatened to harm himself or anyone else.
Jackson said he has evidence to prove his innocence, including text messages, photos, videos and witnesses. He said Perry is lying and trying to alienate him from their daughter. He said he wants to co-parent with Perry, but she has been hostile, vindictive and unreasonable. He said he wants the court to order Perry to undergo a psychological evaluation and parenting classes. He also wants the court to order Perry to pay him child support and his legal fees.
The Court Grants Perry a Temporary Restraining Order and Sets a Hearing Date
The court granted Perry a temporary restraining order against Jackson on Nov. 9, 2023, and ordered him to stay away from her and their daughter until a hearing date. The court also ordered Jackson to surrender any firearms he owns or possesses to the police or a licensed gun dealer. The court set a hearing date for Dec. 8, 2023, to decide on the custody and other issues.
The case has drawn attention from the fans and the media, as both Perry and Jackson are well-known actors who starred in the popular show ‘Insecure’, which ended its fifth and final season in October 2023. Jackson is also the brother of Darius Jackson, who was recently accused of abusing his ex-girlfriend Keke Palmer, who is also a famous actress and singer. Palmer filed a restraining order against Darius Jackson and requested sole custody of their 8-month-old son Leo.
