Epic Universe: A New Theme Park Experience by Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando Resort has announced more details about its upcoming theme park, Epic Universe, which is set to open in 2025. The park will feature five immersive worlds, each with its own attractions, entertainment, dining and shopping options. The park will also have a hotel inside, offering guests exclusive access and views.

Celestial Park: The Heart of Epic Universe

The central world of Epic Universe is Celestial Park, a place where the heavens and earth unite. Inspired by astronomical and mythological elements, Celestial Park will have acres of green space, water features and fountains that reach up to 135 feet high. The park will also host spectacular shows with music and lighting effects.

Celestial Park will have several attractions for guests to enjoy, such as:

  • Starfall Racers: A dual-launch roller coaster that reaches speeds of 62 mph and heights of 133 feet along its 5,000-foot-long track.
  • Constellation Carousel: The centerpiece of Celestial Park, a carousel with 12 zodiac-themed animals that rotate around a giant globe.
  • Astronomica: A water-play area with interactive jets, sprays and slides.
  • Luna Overlook: A viewing platform that offers panoramic views of the park and the night sky.

Celestial Park will also have a variety of dining and retail options, such as:

  • Atlantic: A surf-and-turf restaurant with seafood and steak dishes.
  • Blue Dragon: A pan-Asian restaurant with Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine.
  • Oak & Star Tavern: A barbecue spot with smoked meats and craft beers.
  • Pizza Moon: A pizzeria with wood-fired pizzas and salads.
  • Nintendo Super Star Store: A store that sells merchandise from the Super Nintendo World.
  • Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets: A candy shop with chocolates, candies and pastries.

Universal Helios Grand Hotel: A Heavenly Stay

At the end of Celestial Park, guests will find the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a 500-room hotel that will be located inside the park. The hotel will have a dedicated entrance to Epic Universe, as well as park views from every room. The hotel will also have a pool, a spa, a fitness center and a restaurant.

The hotel will be designed to transport guests to a world where the heavens and earth unite, with celestial-themed décor and architecture. The hotel will also have a lobby that resembles a planetarium, with a domed ceiling that displays the stars and planets.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic: A Magical Adventure

One of the four other worlds that guests can access from Celestial Park is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, a world that will recreate the 1920s wizarding Paris from the Fantastic Beasts films and the British Ministry from the original Harry Potter series.

The world will have several attractions for guests to experience, such as:

  • The Ministry of Magic: A dark ride that will take guests through the corridors and offices of the magical government, where they will encounter familiar characters and creatures.
  • The French Ministry of Magic: A walk-through attraction that will showcase the elegant and ornate building of the French wizarding authority, where guests will see magical artifacts and portraits.
  • The Circus Arcanus: A live show that will feature the performers and beasts from the traveling circus, such as the Zouwu, the Kelpie and the Niffler.
  • The Blind Pig: A speakeasy bar that will serve drinks and snacks inspired by the wizarding world, such as Butterbeer, Firewhisky and Gigglewater.

Another world that guests can access from Celestial Park is Super Nintendo World, a world that will bring to life the iconic characters and games from Nintendo, such as Mario, Zelda, Pokemon and more.

The world will have several attractions for guests to enjoy, such as:

  • Mario Kart: Koopa’s Challenge: A racing ride that will let guests compete with each other and with characters from the Mario Kart series, using augmented reality and projection mapping technology.
  • Yoshi’s Adventure: A family-friendly ride that will take guests on a journey with Yoshi and his friends, collecting eggs and coins along the way.
  • Donkey Kong Country: Mine Cart Madness: A roller coaster that will simulate the mine cart levels from the Donkey Kong Country games, with twists, turns and jumps.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Castle: A dark ride that will immerse guests in the world of Zelda, where they will explore the castle, solve puzzles and face enemies.

A third world that guests can access from Celestial Park is How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, a world that will recreate the island home of the Vikings and dragons from the animated films and series.

The world will have several attractions for guests to experience, such as:

  • Flight of the Dragons: A flying ride that will let guests soar with their favorite dragons, such as Toothless, Stormfly and Hookfang, over the island and beyond.
  • Dragon Training Academy: A interactive attraction that will teach guests how to train and bond with their own dragons, using motion sensors and screens.
  • Dragon’s Den: A walk-through attraction that will let guests explore the hidden cave where the dragons live, where they will see different species and eggs.
  • Dragon Races: A live show that will feature the characters and dragons from the films and series, competing in thrilling and humorous races.

  • The Great Hall: A restaurant that will serve dishes inspired by the Viking culture, such as fish, meat and bread.

The last world that guests can access from Celestial Park is Dark Universe, a world that will draw inspiration from the classic monsters from Universal, such as Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy and more.

  • Frankenstein’s Laboratory: A dark ride that will take guests through the experiments and creations of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, a descendant of the original mad scientist.
  • Dracula’s Castle: A walk-through attraction that will let guests explore the Gothic and mysterious castle of the Count, where they will encounter bats, coffins and vampires.
  • The Mummy’s Tomb: A roller coaster that will plunge guests into the ancient and cursed tomb of the Pharaoh, where they will face mummies, scarabs and traps.
  • The Wolfman’s Forest: A live show that will feature the transformation and rampage of the Wolfman, a man cursed by a werewolf bite.
