One inbox, read by people
Everything reaches us at support@broadbrowse.com. It is the only address we publish and the only one we stand behind. It is read and sorted by our own editorial team, not by an outsourced help desk and not by an automated reply that thanks you for your patience and does nothing. We run no separate department aliases, because on a team this size they only create places for a message to sit unread.
You will reach the right person faster if you put the purpose at the front of the subject line. CORRECTION, TIP, PITCH, ADVERTISING or PRIVACY is all we need to route it. If your message is about a specific article, paste the link rather than describing the headline from memory.
Corrections and complaints about coverage
If we have published something factually wrong, write with CORRECTION in the subject, include the link, and quote the sentence you are disputing. Names, figures, dates and locations are what we most often get wrong and exactly what we most want flagged. What happens once your message lands is set out in our corrections policy, and you do not need to be polite or explain who you are.
Complaints about framing, emphasis or a headline you think is unfair go to the same inbox. Where we can, they are read by an editor who had no hand in the story. If you want a reply rather than an edit, say so, and you will get one either way.
Story tips, and the confidential kind
Tips are among the most useful mail we get. A document, a filing, a notice, a number that does not add up, a thing you saw that has not been reported: send it, and tell us where and when you came across it. The more specific you are about how you know, the faster we can stand it up.
If sending us something could cost you your job or worse, protect yourself before you protect the story. Write from a personal account on a personal device, and make CONFIDENTIAL the first word of the subject line so it is handled that way from the first read. We will reply to arrange a secure channel before you send anything sensitive. We do not identify our sources to anyone, advertisers and lawyers included.
Pitches, press releases and advertising
Freelance pitches are welcome, especially on stories we cannot reach from a desk. Two or three paragraphs is plenty: what the story is, who you can talk to, and roughly what it will cost. Press releases are fine as plain text in the body of the message, and we do not open unsolicited attachments from people we do not know.
Advertising, sponsorship and partnership enquiries go to the same address with ADVERTISING in the subject, and they are handled on the business side, away from the desk that would cover you. What we sell and the categories we turn down is set out on our advertise page.
Privacy requests, legal notices and reply times
For a copy of the personal data we hold, for deletion, or for any question about what our analytics and advertising partners collect, write with PRIVACY in the subject. The rights you have and how to use them are described in our privacy policy. If you need a postal route to serve a legal notice, ask and we will provide one.
We act on corrections the same day we read them and aim to answer everything else within two working days, which can stretch during a major breaking story. If a week passes with no reply, resend, because messages do occasionally get lost. One last thing: we will not ask you to trust any social media account as ours. If an account claims to speak for BROAD BROWSE, check it against this inbox before you believe it.
